Hi folks, I just sold some equipment to mpb and they are ready to pay me for it but here’s my issue, they only want to pay me by transferring the funds to my banking account, they want my banking account number and routing number, I have bought things from them years ago, and it seems a lot of you folks like them and give them really good ratings, but do you feel it’s ok to just give out that info with the way things Are nowadays, thanks for your input, topkat.

You should be able to use PayPal, if you have a verified account there, or even if you don't. That way you don't have to give them your bank information. All they need is your email address.

And you are right...in this day and age you can't be too careful. If they won't go the PayPal route then I would look elsewhere. Legitimate outfits will use PayPal all day long.

Do they have a contact # to call and ask their reasons for the change in policy? Seems a bit odd that they can't just remit the payment directly to you. Who's to know if they will or won't sell your account info.

I just did a Google search on Mpb. Overall, about 60% good to 40% bad reviews. Not worth it to save a dime in my book.

That’s right. This is not secret information. What you are doing is letting them deposit money, not take it out. All sorts of organizations use direct deposit, from the IRS and Social Security to eBay and PayPal.

I have sold equipment to them and they paid me by direct deposit into my checking account. Never a problem. Every time you give someone a check, you give them your routing number and bank account number, it is printed across the bottom of the check.
