Had to take advantage of the clear sky...we have been smoked in for a good week or so, what a beautiful day it turned out to be. But on the sad side...we did see a few helicopters getting water at one of the lakes we stopped at....there is a new fire just about 5 miles away that started yesterday.

We took the side-by-side up to Werner Peak, then over to Upper Whitefish Lake and on to Red Meadow Lake...then we ran into the DNRC guys who closed the road because of the fire.

Good pictures and nice area. Now why does the last picture look as if a large object interrupted the stream of water in the middle?

Interesting images, like the butterflies on those flowers.

The "tail" casting the shadow is a horizontal stabilizer or synchronized elevator. It is controlled by fore and aft input of the cyclic stick which is the vertically mounted control for the plane of the disc of the main rotor blades(324rpm). Sorry for the digression from this 30 year huey mechanic including a few seasons with the owner of this aircraft, the MT DNRC.

Sorry about the fires, Cindy. You sure do make me long for the mountains, though.
