The range with the 6.5 Grendel I built in 2017
Custon AR15 lower, Shilen SS match grade barrel, Timiney 3# trigger and a Millett 6-25 56mm objective lens scope.
First sighted in at 25 yds target not shown
First: Target shown at 50yds
Second: Target shot at 100 yds with no change in zero first three shots on left, reset windage-second group 8 shots
There has only been 30 rounds put thru this rifle and will get better after a good break-in 100 or so rounds.
These target are yellowed from age there are at least 20 yrs old.
Very satisfying to shoot small groups!

Yep, but it needs to get better
Keep at it, Frank. They'll all be in the read after sighting and practice.

You have the idea and you know what to do. That is half the battle.Have fun as you target in.
Tight grouping. Don't want to be on the wrong end of your barrel. LOL
Nicely done, Frank. Interesting that at 100 yards, the windage adjustment moved the group right where you wanted it.
Nice group! And your right...it will get better with more shots!
Interesting targets. I assume since you are sighting in you are shooting from the bench.
Target 1. There appears to be a flyer at 6 o'clock. It's hard to tell from the photo, is that a keyhole in the 3 shot group or did the target tear?
Target 2. Nice 3 shot group. Again in the 8 shot group, target tear or keyhole.
Be sure to follow Shillen's barrel break in criteria. Certainly seem to have a potentially good rifle there.

That is three shots touching
The eight shot group is not a tear or keyhole
I had the range master spotting as I shot since I was the only one shooting over a 2.5 hour period
I was shooting factory ammo, the 6.5 bullets not prone to unstable flight especially at 100 yds.
Had someone else not been spotting I would have been wondering myself, it's been years since I have done any 100yd shooting, and I'm damned sure not as steady as I was at 35 yrs old.
I will be reloading for this rifle if I can ever buy some powder!!! they say there is a shortage due to covid.
Factory loads are selling at $44.95 per 20 rnds.

Thank you Cindy
I'm not getting any younger will be 82 in October so I'm not as steady as I once was, any shooting I do these day is done from a rest of some sort.
Just like my photography tripod only, except for flash shots.

Thank you very much Joe
I adjusted the windage to get where I wanted to be, I was dealing with a cross wind that had picked up at the time I was shooting at 100yds.

Well if your at 100yds your not a threat
unless your shooting
Really I doubt this rifle will ever be use for hunting. Hunting big game is just too much work these days.
