Found a Quiet Spot on the Beach

This is another shot I took last weekend during my long excursion along the lagoon side of Gulf Islands National Seashore. This section is well past the end of the road in the park and there aren't too many visitors in this area.

I found this interesting because it shows the absolute power that hurricanes have on our natural dune systems. Back in December everything was washed out and there were large chunks of the dunes completely gone from the storm surge. Just nine short months later the plant life has started to take hold again and with some assistance from the park service, the dunes are being slowly rebuilt.

Great image!!!John
I do believe the image would have more impact without the top half of the sky.

It's frustrating and many times disappointing to have to accept what Mother Nature sends our way. But, in the end, it's all good. Nice photo Tony.

Much appreciated Frank. And thanks for the feedback.

I did originally crop out more of the sky, but I felt it lost the openness and space that I felt when I was there.

Hey Chief! I'll tell you what.....when I first walked through the park after the storm and saw the damage, I was completely empty and devoid of that magic I feel walking along this beach. It just shows you that mother nature always has a plan and she works fast!

I really like how you added "Lost Bay" at the bottom left. What font name did you use if you know ?? It is one of the best styled fonts I have seen.
