NIK - Silver Efex Pro 2 ???? Not working

I had no issues with Adobe Photoshop 2019, 2020 but with version 2021 I cannot find any solution for it to function. I've deleted, reinstalled, deleted folders, in Programs/Adobe/Plugins/NIK
Any ideas would be appreciated. It's not life or death, it is more important than that!!
I did find a work around: If I use Explorer/Programs/Adobe/Plugins/NIK/Silver Effex (app) and open it, then open an image, it works just fine. Mysteries!!

I think that I recently had a problem very similar to yours, Mark. Before the June 30 discount cutoff date, I downloaded the new Nik 4 collection. I had been an old version of the free Google Nik collection. Coincidentally, I also could not get Silver Efix to start. When I attempted to get Color Efix to start, I received a message to input my license number. After I entered the number, Silver Efex worked normally.

Both Silver Efex Pro and Color Efex Pro crash photoshop the instant I click on it. Of course, any edits I made to the image are also gone. I welcome any suggestions. I am on Mojave on a Macbook Pro.

Go to C:/Program Files/Adobe and notice you will see directories for Adobe Photoshop 2020 and 2021. Within each of these subdirectories is another subdirectory named "Plug-ins". Then make sure that the plugins for the NIK products that you see in the 2020 version are found in the 2021 version. In my case, there is a "Google" subdirectory that contains all the NIK plugins. If this is missing in the 2021 version, just copy the whole Google subdirectory to the plugins subdirectory in the 2021 version.
And by the way, all my NIK plugins are working fine. And I just updated today to release 22.4.3 and it is working fine with the NIK plugins.

Mark, about a year ago, I broke down and bought the paid version of NIK. Sadly, I think it may be time for you to do so, too. I use Silver Efex all the time, and wouldn't want to be without it.

Which release of Photoshop 2021 are you using. There was one release earlier this year that had some serious problems and I had problems with it. Enough so that I reinstalled the previous release and the problems went away.
Later, after that bad release was replaced with a newer one, I was able to install it and the problems were gone.
