LI BATTERY-AIR TRAVEL

I know this has been ask before, but maybe there are current changes. Air travel on Southwest Airlines and lithium Ion batteries. What can you take and how many and what packaging? This is for a Canon R6. Thanks for your help.

Every airline may be different.
Check with the airline you intend to use.

I agree with checking specific airlines, and the SW reference you need is above. As I frequent traveler, the two rules that seem to be universal are

A) You may not check Li-ion batteries in any luggage. They must be removed. This also applies to the new luggage that has a battery and charger built in. Must be ejected.

B) in your carry-on, any loose batteries must have their contacts covered so they cannot short out. I keep the original battery end covers for my camera batteries, ensure I have all other batteries such that they can not short out, and put the whole thing in a big ziplock that can be pulled out separately for TSA to inspect and save time.
