I don't know which one it is, I am pretty certain that it is a checkerspot, but I don't know if it is a Northern or a Bay.
If someone knows, I would appreciate clarifying this for me.
This wasn't a very good picture to start out with, but I did my best. At least for today.

RE the species, I don't have a clue. Yeah, it's muted, but it's still beautiful.
This is not an aggressive quedtion: don't you have the pp ability? Unless someone else beats me to it, and I hope someone does, I'll try to make some time avail and apply my limited resources.

I did work it in Photoshop, Elements; and I also used NIK.

Thanks. I am pretty sure that it is a Checkerspot, but it could be a Bay Checkerspot as I am in the SF Bay area.
They are on the endangered list, so just seeing one is good. It also could be a Nothern, which are not endangered.
For me, it is hard to tell the difference.
