Workaround for Fujifilm and Panasonic lenses with no lens profiles in ACR

I am considering purchasing either the Fujifilm S10 or Panasonic G9 for a variety of functions that they share.

I use the Raw image format. My work flow for Raw images from my Canon cameras is to first open them in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), where for all of my Canon lenses I can apply Adobe's lens profiles. These profiles include corrections for distortion, especially important to correct for curved horizons with wide angle lenses. My research indicates that Adobe does not support Fujifilm or Panasonic lenses with lens profiles in ACR.

What's the best workaround to apply lens profiles for RAW images made with Fujifilm or Panasonic lenses? Thanks.

Manual lens corrections may be your best option. Or you may be able to find Canon lenses that have similar characteristics and use those profiles instead.

How about Capture One (Fuji version)? It has lens correction for Fuji and is preferred by many Fuji shooters (including me) over ACR.

Also, take a look at this thread (https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic/no-support-for-fujifilm-x-t2-lenses/m-p/9041091) according to it, ACR automatically supplies the needed correction based on the information in Fuji’s raw file. is that true? Don’t know, will have to test it.

The lens profiles are built into the RAW files from Panasonic cameras. ACR post processing corrections are not needed. I suspect other brands of mirrorless cameras have broken away from legacy DSLR workflows too.

Hi Bob,
I shoot with a Fujifilm X-T2 and 100-400mm Fujifilm Lens. I usually post process with Lightroom but I checked Photoshop CC Classic this morning with a shot I took of the moon last night in RAW and PS recognized the lens correction info that was embedded in the EXIF data, picked right up on the lens I was using. (lower right corner of the photo).
Hope this helps.

I've never needed to make changes or correct anything. I have three Panasonic Lumix lenses for my Lumix GH4, all of which are fine without special help. Lightroom Classic (ACR) just reads the data and adjusts as needed.

I can't speak for the Fujifilm S10 but the Panasonic G9 is a MFT camera and all MFT camera lenses have profiles built into the firmware of the lens so additional corrections aren't necessary.
