We were driving on Rt.1 to Bar Harbor when I saw this house on the side of the road. What do you think?
the house is looking sad... but an old house has a story...so it makes for a very interesting picture
Looks like the house my wife wanted to spend $400K on in Key West.

It could do with a lick of paint...
Its a good subject for mono and HDR but be careful when you're stomping around it. It looks like it could fall at any time

It could also certainly do with a few minutes use of Photo-shop.

I love old houses. That sure would have been something in it's day.

I bet it was fabulous in its day.
That was some house at one time......if only the walls could talk. I like the second one....shows the mood.
I would love to "find" that in my neck of the woods. I love photographing urban scenes, forgotten items, etc. HDR, when done correctly could really make the details pop, especially the weathered siding!
Nice shots, Talk about a fixerup'er.
I love photographing 'Abandoned America'. In fact, I've sought out several old houses similar to this one, but still in excellent condition. After taking the photographs, I always come home and try to research the history of the house/property. In one instance, I even located old photographs online of the original inhabitants. Sure would like to hear the history of this one.

Stand outside and shout "I have come back" then get ready to run.
Intrigued, I did a 'walk-by' on google earth. I expected this house to be sitting on a larger property. The Primrose House is next door and seems to be in good condition. There are a number of photos of this house online, but I did not find any info on the home, the original owner, or current owner. The address for the Primrose is 384 East Main St., Searsport, ME. I don't see the address for this old place and didn't take the time to search on an auditor's sight. Seems most of the old mansions in Searsport were originally built by Sea Captains. Oh - there was a cyclone in the 1920's. Maybe that started the decline of this home.
If anyone finds further info, I would love to read it!
