This is a picture of a snake I shot in Panama. I was unable to see his head or tail. I assume it is not a poisoness coral snake because the red touches the black but I cannot find its pattern on the web.
I do not know, but I think south of the USA the color rhyme does not hold true.

Looks like it could be a mimic snake, like the scarlet snake, or the Scarlet king snake.

Yes it does!!!! King snakes come in a variety of color schemes. e..g. black on white, red on black. Depends on the geographical area. e.g. California-Black on White! The King snake is a very gentle creature. As long as you don't startle it, you can gently pick it up and it will nestle with you. It also kills Rattlesnakes so they are beneficial. A 1ft King can kill a 3ft Rattler.

It's not. It's a King Snake non venomous. Good guy to have around if you have rattlesnakes. They killem....

Sure looks like a coral snake.
It is not a Coral Snake, but in Panama you should not assume that means it is non-venemous. I can't id it either, but there are many venemous species in central america, so you would need to find an expert.
