Spread over a few meals, some steamed clams, freshly picked salad from a local farm on Deer Isle and oysters from Long Cove Sea Farm in Stonington. A blister is forming on my thumb from shucking 4 dozen oysters but I’m not complaining.
Good looking food....nice !
Excellent! Shellfish are a little risky for me, but I still much enjoy them when I take a chance (and get away with it)!

Nuthin' like fresh shellfish!
For a number of years stayed at a cottage (or, locally: a camp) north of Bar Harbor - right on the ocean. While we bought lobster from a local fisherman, we would get a license and harvest our own mussels and steamers. A bunch of 'campwood', lots of seaweed, some unshucked corn, a fire pit above the high-water line, and we were in flat-lander's heaven!
A few hours later, fully sated and smelling smokey, we would be sitting in the dark looking at the Milky Way, swatting away the mosquitos, enjoying a good cigar, a sip of an excellent single-malt and someone would say 'man, this is the life!'.
Good food contributes so much to great memories!
