With all of the organized chaos of construction and other family activities, I finally carved out some time to get back out to Gulf Islands National Seashore. This was my first time back since right after Hurricane Sally, and I am amazed at how fast mother nature grabs hold of a bad situation and starts repairing the dunes and the flora that build this delicate ecosystem.
This photo shows none of that
I found this single pylon on a distant part of the park. This area doesn't see much foot traffic which is why I chose to embark on such a long hike along this beautiful shoreline. I figured this would be a good candidate for some long exposure practice. I did take some liberties and add a subtle monochrome to color gradient because I couldn't choose on one or the other.

Beautiful shot, Tony! Great to see you posting again.
Wow!
While there’s a tiny voice in the back of my head whining, “The piling should be away from the center.” I’m telling the voice to chill out and take a calming breath. The shot is a wonderful example of a minimalist approach to a powerful story. I LOVE IT.

Thanks Mike. Although mostly unproductive from a photography point of view...it was nice to walk the 4 miles along a coast that was pretty much gone 9 months ago.

RD...You got it for sure! I purposely kept it center to give it that tiny bit of conflict...thanks for commenting and viewing!
