They were great places to take the dog to let him run free - no other people, lots of room, and the dog could explore and sniff around as much as he pleased!
The reason I posted was is that I thought it quite comical that a hydrant would be located out in the middle of nowhere. I don’t expect much building or traffic next to the transmission towers & it would take about a 1/4 mile of hose to benefit any fire protection needs.
