Showing errors in both slots with multiple cards, does anyone have experience with cleaning them ? If this is even the issue or experienced this ?
I had two D7000's. I never had the card errors. I did have an error message when the lens contacts were not making proper contact. I removed the lens and put it back on. That restored contact between the lens and camera body. Can you go into the menu and format the cards?
Perhaps a "factory reset" of the camera? Not sure how to do that on your camera but most cameras have a way to reset the camera to the way it was shipped out. That will usually fix electronic problems. I would think it is unlikely that you have a physical issue with both card slots if they both started acting up simultaneously.
I would do an internet search on how to do a factory reset and try that.
Can you Google the error message?

It is impossible to provide any meaningful suggestions to you without knowing a few things:
1) Specifically what error is the camera reporting?
2) Are these new cards being used for the first time?
3) What is their capacity?
4) If they are new cards, what capacity cards were you using before?
5) What firmware is loaded in your camera? (Or has it ever been updated?)
For the life of me, I do not know why the first place people on this site go is to suggest a "Factory Reset." Executing a Reset will likely remove all evidence that might provide opportunity to diagnose what caused the error in the first place, which means that opportunity to correct the true cause is lost, which means that there is no guarantee that the exact same thing won't happen again.
I agree with larrypage in that I tend to shy away from resetting. However, if you determine that it is appropriate and necessary, the manual says to hold the "QUAL" (on back bottom left) and the "+/-" (to the right just behind the shutter release) buttons down at the same time for more than two seconds. Each of those buttons is marked by a green dot next to it.
Try gently cleaning the slots. It does seem odd that neither slot will work, though. Before cleaning, I'd try more name brand cards that you know are good, and do a factory reset. This technique has been known to solve problems: remove the battery, turn the camera on, and hold down the shutter button. Let us know how this turns out.
Factory reset, and take out the battery and reinstall it, or try another battery.
Make sure there are no photos on the cards. Did you try formatting the cards. I have a D7100 and if you install a new card, it must be formatted.
This camera was introduced 11 years ago. The manual does not mention memory cards beyond 32 GB. With original firmware, my D300s (2009) would have a seizure if presented with memory cards larger than about 16 GB. With an update, it will use larger cards easily. Same with my D300, although the limits are different from those of the D300s. That's why we need to know a little bit more information here before jumping off a cliff with unfounded suggestions.

Have you tried each slot by itself?
