we ran alpacas from '01 to about '18 ... great critters (but the thing about the "huggable investment" was total B.S. - they're so head shy that hugging them is impractical - they HATE it) ... only had one that liked to be touched ... a really nice Peruvian male ...

if you ever run across a big black peruvian male with a litle white moustache, sired by El Noche, tell him that GrainMan loves him and misses him terribly

Well, MSW, I don’t keep company with alpacas on a regular basis BUT one of our sons in law is from Peru. When he goes to visit his parents I’ll ask him to keep his eyes open for your big black Peruvian male. 😊

Yes we do Marg just a couple of miles from where I live a farm has several in its fields and they seem to be very popular in the UK these days,
