Starting a list of things you do not get a photography merit badge for...just sayin’
As a life long Scout whom did, in fact, earn his photography merit badge back in the day, I take severe offense at this whole thread……
Just kidding. There is a requirement for a series of pictures demonstrating different techniques/effects (eg same subject a two different DOF), and you do have to explain and demonstrate PP software (so more than SOOC is required), but nothing else on the list nor additional suggestions is in fact required
I would add one more to the list just for us as it relates to UHH threads - people whom cannot create a descriptive thread title (for sale or need help or which lens being just a few recent examples). 🤪

Here are a few things that make me tired when people think they should move to the front of class because they do them.
1. Shoot RAW (just do it)
2. Shoot manual (good for you, but most of us who have been shooting for a long time were thrilled when presented with new modes
3. Obsessing about focus (great lens but it fades a little in the corners)
4. SOOC...(you’re taking snapshots not producing an image)
5. Percentage of “keepers” (no you don’t get 9 out of 10)
6. Equipment (most of time it won’t help you take better pictures)
7. Photographs instead of art (unless your shooting aerial photographs of a drought...photography is an art )
8. Fill in the blank________________________________________

When people saying so it's you that think they want to move to the front of the class not them that think so. That's why I said it's a mistake to suggest any of those things as they are not wrong per se but make people like you think they want to move to the front of the class.

It's your right to think wrongly...😊
Some people might be looking for a merit badge but most are looking for the best way to get good results.

People who try to tell everyone else how to be a photographer and what they should post. Take your meds, eat a meal etc. to give them time to kick in, then post.

Ive sometimes sprinkled a bit of white vinegar as air freshener or odor killer.
Not my fave, but works in a pinch.

How about the following:
1 ~ You should not get a photographic merit badge for ~~ Sky replacement....
2 ~ You should not get a photographic merit badge for ~~ Inserting a moon in the top right corner of the sky
My position is that - why should you be rewarded for something that any 15 year old kid can do with only 10-20 minutes of training in a software program?
The above is, my humble opinion and others have theirs I am sure.
