Now out of warranty, of course, but the print quality always comes out as if in draft mode. As cartridges are seldom full when buying new printer, I reluctantly bought. After shaking the **** out of it before installing, I hoped for better results. Alas, no dsifference.
I sent a message to Brother from their web site, some weeks ago, but it seems they refuse to reply.
Any suggestions please.
Without knowing what operating system you are using, I'm going to assume Windows 10.
1. In Windows 10, go to the settings icon and find 'Devices"
2. From there find "Printers & Scanners"
3. Find your Brother printer from the list and left click once to highlight it
4. Once highlighted, click on Manage
5. From Manage find "Printer Preferences"
6. Under "Printer Preferences" look for a setting that reads "Draft" and change it accordingly
Hope this helps.
Many thanks for your reply and advice. However:
I get to item 3 on your list and that is where it stops. Yes
I use Win 10 and am wondering if something else changed when I upgraded from Win7 (which worked perfectly)
I am on a PC and not a Mac if that makes any difference.
Sounds like the printer is not installed on the computer.
You will have to go to Brother website and download the appropriate WIN10 driver for the printer and install.
You also did not mention if the printer was attached via a USB cable or WIFI connected.
Be sure to select the appropriate connection type when installing the driver.
I have a Brother b&w printer and enjoy the cost savings of printing with black ink only for print jobs. I've not had your problem and am on my second large drum.
