I was struggling between buying a Tamron 150-600 and waiting a year to get an R series camera with an RF 100-500. I had decided on waiting but was waffling when I saw this post. I take it as a sign to wait.

The 100mm less reach is possibly made up by getting lots more pixels later on.

Also I have read that the Tamron is fairly soft in the 500-600mm range.

Yes you should wait. Never buy anything you don't need and you don't like. (I mean you don't need because unlike food if you don't have steak you can eat eggs)

What I want is a mirrorless APS-C camera from Canon with an R mount! They made it easy for me to wait!

I wonder why it is taking so long for the R7 to come out.... If they wait much longer the cell phones will be their main competition for that camera.
