My wife and I celebrated the holiday early at Three V’s in Plymouth, MA. I ordered the bone-in pork chop with an apple/onion compote and requested my two favorite sides, sauteed spinach and whipped sweet potato.

I love it when you do close ups of your food! I really should try it sometime.
It looks very good. Spinach is my favorite too!

Thanks, Jill. My close-up style usually appears when I take pictures of my dinner in a restaurant to post in this section using my iPhone. I don’t like background clutter so I often need to come in close to avoid it.

I still use my regular equipment for all my food photography at home. My normal style involves shooting from table level wide open and including the entire plate. You can see my normal style in my recent bagel post.

Looks very good! I like the entire set of foods you chose. Good fruit / onion compotes are always a taste treat.

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. This restaurant is the newest acquisition of a family who owns and operates six Italian restaurants in the area. The young man who runs this restaurant is part of the family and a recent graduate of culinary school. This is the model for a different style of restaurant for the family to broaden their customer base.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment, yorkiebyte. My wife and I have been going out to lunch together every Saturday ever since we married in 1965. We’re always looking for new places and this one has become a favorite.

That chop looks scrumptious and the side sound like winners, too.
