Thanks Curmudge! I value your comments highly! I love catching birds in flight...their wings are so beautiful & the color patterns so unexpected! We rarely to never see them with the naked eye! I am really thankful for my new Canon T8i with over 7 frames per second that enables me to catch more good ones...notice I did not say perfect ones...hehe.
Many of our members have a rich appreciation of nature and the natural world as shown in the pictures of the beautiful things in their back yards.
Hey Doc...I love your comment! My sentiments too...I am loving spending enough time in the backyard to learn the timing & rhythm of the varied life there. It is very soothing in these unsettled times.Thanks...Walt
Thank you Mundy...The Bullock's Orioles & Western Tanagers are very special visitors to my backyard...no good Tanagers yet this year...I am now seeing Black headed Grosbeaks now! Take care, Walt
Thanks Mike! Pretty bird isn't he? At the very first I thought it might be the more rare Hooded Oriole that I captured a few years ago...but the white belly area and the faint Olive colored hood area that will be black next year...had me puzzled. Merlin & other pictures showed me this as a juvenile Bullock's. Thank for the comment...Walt
It is a beautiful bird. You made a considerable effort to attract and you were ready to photograph! Very well done!
Thank you Carol! I just love sharing the beautiful birds God created for all to enjoy! I now wish I had started much younger! Although I was aware of birds & how wonderful they were even as a young child. I used to spend hours at my grandparents laying on the nicely slanted door to their basement in an almond orchard! Can you imagine how beautiful it was in the springtime & full bloom? The scented air! Whenever they wanted to find me they looked there first! I remember counting a dozen Northern Flickers all at once in that paradise of an orchard! This was in the late 40's & I was 4-5.
