What are the recommended after market batteries for Nikon En-El 15? Thank you for your suggestions.

I've been using photive EN-EL 14 for at least 5 years now. I'm not recommending over any other replacements, since I've only been using these 2 batteries, long after my original Nikon battery died. I am however saying these meet all conceivable requirements other than cost. I don't now what the cost of these were, they were a gift. Pay attention to Ah rating. These are 1500, and I wouldn't go below that, the higher the better.

Oh, I should have noted that my original Nikon batteries had a 1030 Ah rating. The photive replacements have 1500. This means the replacements theoretically should have about 30% more power. I noticed the extra power but nothing scientific. They last a good while and more importantly, after 5 years they seem to perform about the same as when new.

Some third party batteries are good and in theory some can be even better than Nikon batteries but if you ask me which battery I would buy if I need one? I would buy the Nikon one. It's not that expensive and it would surely work.

Some Nikon cameras can detect when you try to use non-Nikon batteries. They will refuse to start up if it's not a Nikon battery. My Z5 is like that.

That's true! Nikon doesn't make batteries so the battery companies (including the one that made batteries for Nikon) could very well make their own version which can be either cheaper, better or both but since Nikon batteries are more expensive I don't think they are too expensive. The cost of batteries for my photography hobby isn't all that great compared to others so I would simply buy the Nikon battery and knowing that I won't benefit from possible money saving or improved performance but I am sure my camera will work as intended.

Nikon batteries are so inexpensive, why would you want to use anything else for your once in a life time photo's.

For my Nikon Z5, I use both the original Nikon battery AND compatible "BM brand" batteries en-el15C, without any problems.

I have a series of 3 remote Nikon D-500 cameras that are placed remotely & triggered by MIOPS. Due to restrictions on retrieving the cameras & swapping out batteries (rocket launch pad), I spent a long time researching 3rd party batteries/claims (throw away the marketing garbage)....I finally settled on Hahnel a company based in Ireland & sold here through B&H. They come with a charger that has a bar indicator to show the amount of charge still in battery. Also charger has the all important auto shutoff when battery is fully charged. I've been using them for past 20 months without an issue.
As far as the Nikon facotry battery, the latest series that I am aware of has the letter "B" after EL-15....I've returned everything else to Nikon.

I have tried the Watson's and they just don't last.

Nikon's just be going & going without any issues.

I have tried some of the alternate brands, including Watson. Maybe just bad luck but lifetime of the alternative brands has consistently been shorter than the Nikon batteries. Cost per hour of useful life seems to be about the same, but I prefer the longer lifetimes.
