Time-out for conservatives: So, the other day I was put into Hogger time-out for three days. When I asked Admin why, he basically responded because of inappropriate language and such.

So, the other day I was put into Hogger time-out for three days. When I asked Admin why, he basically responded because of inappropriate language and such. I reviewed what I had posted and did not see anything that some of our more liberal Hoggers post routinely. When I told Admin that in the past I had complained about the same inappropriate language from some of our lefty Hogers, he said I was lying. So, is Admin left-leaning? What do you think?

Admin warned me about language I had used in a post and threatened "time out". The post was removed and things went on their merry way.

In your case, I guess I'd have to see the examples of both sides of the posts to which you are referring.

I did receive a warning but did not see it. I have no problem requiring courtesy on the forum. But I do have a problem when the rules are not equally applied.

I certainly agree with the equal application of the rules. I also agree with respectful treatment of other members of the site. However, I don't see that respect in a number of posts.

I was warned yesterday for calling someone a name but only after that person called me a name. Whether the other person was warned or not I don't know. If not he should have been.

I think it would be judicious on the part of the admin to send, and acknowledge, the same PM to both parties. That way each knows the other has been warned, as well.

I also got sent on vacay for three days...I let it go five days.

I asked four times what I had said that violated the rules.

Zero response.

It is pretty arbitrary IMHO.

I think admin is a bot that just responds to complaints. In the past four or five years I had two comments deleted by admin. I was told I had been warned "many times" and did not seem to be paying attention.

I begged to be told what I was saying that was offensive...zero response.

I troll the trolls sometimes, but I think I am one of the least offensive folk on here...I guess I am wrong about that.

I think admin regrets creating the attic.

Good point. Just do away with the Attic and get the forum back to photography exclusively. If someone post nasty, name calling or disparaging comments directed toward someone or a non-photography topic, they get banned for 30 days. Let's keep it civil. Works for me.

Oh and detailed instructions on how to remove ones head from; well u know that
got me a warning as well.
Sometime it’s hard to refrain so I just ignore.
I come back on those who can take it in a light hearted manner at least I try to.

I agree MWalsh, you are not very offensive. Guess you will have to work harder at it since you get sent to time out anyway. Might as well go over to the dark side like almost everyone else in the attic.

I have to admit, in years past I would get as nasty as anyone! I generally let them draw first blood though, was my excuse.

These days, I have tried to be a little nicer...because of me...not due to admin.

I just had one deleted which I find funny. I’m not going to ask why however in light of the regularly snide and petty remarks that are put out by some I find it curious that those stay up.

But the owner of the site can do what they want. In the end its not important.
