Since there is no authenication, I have no reason to believe any of the numbers. Any programmer can make a webpage that has numerous rapidly spinning counters. But, in the real world transaction counters do not spin at constant and uniform rates around the clock. Nor is there any recognized source tracking all these activities in real time. Bottom line is that someone created a flashy webpage with spinning counters to dazzle the generally unquestioning public.

What you said makes sense to me, but what do they get out of making such a website? I guess it makes them feel good to fool someone!
