I do alot of surf shooting, if I'm *really* trying for quality I'll use my D5 or D500 hooked to my 200-500 or my 200-400 f4. But last Sunday I ended up at the pier with only my Z50 with the 50-250 kit lens. Well, I goofed around for a bit, again working the interesting auto-focus of the Z cameras...at first I'd forgotten how to utilize subject tracking and had it set to "Auto-area" w/o the subject tracking feature activated. Really got some nice keepers...when I finally pulled my head out and started to use the fn2 button for what I had intended, the keepers multiplied nicely!

These are really nice shots. We don't get many photos like these hear in Kansas. Post more when you can. Thanks BE SAFE!

Very nice shots Charlie - well captured. I got a Z50 last Christmas, and am impressed with it.

I haven't shot with the Z50, but coupled with a kit lens the shots are good. The faces, framing, etc. good stuff.

...thanks Jules. I'm quite happy with the results. Nice to know that the Z50 will function adequately in a pinch!

...Tom, friend me on Facebook, you'll get PLENTY! Haha...
Epic series of "Lifestyle Sports" Charlie... Fabulous color harmonies latent within...
Thank you for sharing your kit data here.
That Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR Nikkor delivers nicely in bright sunlight!
Proof is in the results... Amazing 375mm equivalent reach at 405 grams... Feather light!
Charlie I'm so jealous of your California locale... Here on the East Coast we simply don't have much in the way of Surfing Waves... Please continue to post more of your surfing delightful artistry...
btw, Lifestyle sports are now being embraced by individuals who have been isolated from traditional school-based and institutional sport practices due to Covid-19 precautions... I've noticed a huge uptick in Mountain Biking and Skateboarding here in Northern VA... With social distancing being relaxed non-competitive sports, like Yoga and Pilates are again seeing a very healthy increase of "In Class" learning...
Albeit none compare with the charismatic beauty of Sand, Surf and Sun!
All the best on your journey Charlie!
