Smoky art with new camera

Doing smoke photography with my 5DMiv was awesome and I could always count on focusing where and when I wanted. Then the R5 came into my life. Well I must say I was in quite mystified on why using the same lens and settings, or so I thought, that I could hardly keep focus. It has been quite a learning curve needless to say and my smoke art being the hardest challenge yet. I’m figuring it out though and having fun! I know it’s different but I do enjoy the challenge of capturing the smokes essence, it’s……..intriguing.

Thank you! Auto, I’ve tried manual but the smoke changes so quickly oof in manual it makes it near impossible to use. I’ve focused on the tips of the incense even but so far no go.

I huge thank you to everyone! Ive been temporarily distracted with having to have a Covid test after being exposed. It’s not me I worry about as much as those I could possibly spread it too. It wouldn’t be good if I had it either but I’ll know more in several days.
