THE RIVER OF HISTORY

The square of buildings is the old dock. Around it are many new private houses in place of those that replaced the blitzed houses. The other side of the river is where the CSS ALABAMA was built. LIVERPOOL being a port sided with the Southern states, handling the bales of cotton to be transported to the cotton mills of Lancashire. The ship was used as an armed raider, sinking many of the Union states before she was sunk.
