I never turn off my image stabilizer and don't get blurry images. If you are shooting slow enough speed, you are probably moving the camera when shooting. Need to set the shutter on a few second time delay to allow the camera to settle down.

Thanks for your comments Tim (both posts). Yes, I love those flowers - a bit nostalgic for me too, given my earlier life in Kenya. With such an elongated profile, I found DoF a challenge for oblique shots. MMmmm - never gave stabiliser a thought, but will do now, given that I was using Oly lens (I think not stabilised) with a Panny Lumix G2 body (I think not stabilised). Many thanks for the heads-up.

Use of time delay in this way - never thought of that - thanks!

I used the Z50mm 1.8 lens for all these shots - the glassware was 1/40sec, f/5.6, and ISO 1800 while the fireplace was 1/20, f/4.5, and ISO 7200 (this should have been shot at about f/2 or so which would have brought down the ISO). Probably your lowlight problem stems from that kit lens which isn't fast enough. Apart from that, how are you liking the Z6ii? It will be a while, if ever, before I upgrade from the Z6 but it's always nice to know!

Thank you! Yes, I agree it's the lens. I love it - just a bit of a learning curve from my D7100. The best thing about it is YOU GET WHAT YOU SEE!!!

These are such beautiful birds and you certainly did them justice with these images. I have never seen one.

This is Porto Cima. A golf course at Lake of the Ozarks. The Missouri Am was played at this course this past week. This is hole number 7.

Just gorgeous, my sons would love to golf there!

Last evening our church hosted a concert by "New Song", a singing group from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. We were the first stop on their summer concert tour and one of the singers is a member of our church. These images were shot with a "nifty fifty" Z lens but I'm thinking the more versatile Z70-200 would have done a better job.

That sounds enjoyable.

Stunning scenery. Makes me homesick (I live in Shanghai but I'm from Kiwi land)

It was an excellent concert - they do mostly Psalms and everything is acapella.
