I hadn't ordered any pictures from Costco since they closed their in-house lab, but I need to get ready for a show in August. So I went to their site and clicked on the canvas prints. Up came an announcement of a 90% off sale! Wonderful prices were offered. So I spent all day looking up pictures I've wanted to print but couldn't afford to. Finally, I uploaded all of these to the Costco site and started ordering. But the canvas prints weren't coming up at the 90% off prices! So I thought maybe they would apply the discount at the checkout. No. So I went back to find the notice I had seen. Sure enough, clicking on the Costco canvas prints (or googling it) got me this notice. Turns out, it's a place called "canvas discount." I couldn't find much on them, so I was really hesitant to actually order from them.

Has anyone used them? I noticed they were mentioned in a thread posted today. I couldn't seem to find out the depth of their stretcher bars (1.25" or 1.5"), and the actual prices that came up when I uploaded an image to print were not the prices in the ad. That was sort of a red flag to me.

I have used them and gotten both good and bad results. If you have a good clean file you can get a good result from them and if you don't like what they send, they will redo it at no charge. I find the end result is a little darker than what I see on my computer screen I would imagine due to the screen images being back lit and looking brighter. I would suggest printing a 4x6 on matt finish paper at home and comparing the result to what you see on your screen. Make an adjustment if necessary before sending the file to Canvas Discount.

Thanks, Bridges. What depth of stretcher bars did you get from them?

I have used them before. Liked the print and the 1.5" depth.

I have only gotten the more shallow stretcher bars. I think if I ordered larger than 16x20 I would opt for the heavier bars.

Thanks for the info. My galleries usually require 1.5 inch depth.

I have used them. I will hold off for the sale and buy several as if you buy more than $75.00 it's free shipping. I will get them well wrapped in a week or less. Don't buy the wire set! I usually get 24X36 or 30X40.

Their current promo says free shipping on orders over $70. And it's supposedly a percentage off, and the percentage goes down one point every day. However, when I saw the actual prices to be charged, it wasn't at the percentage stated. Thanks for the comment.

I started ordering canvas prints...good prices...bad not good results. I was ordering big photos...30X40's, or bigger. Two out of three were off color. I had to send them back. No more.

The sad reality is cutting corners on print making of your images for display seems very un-wise to me - but I do understand .......I use Fine Art America - they have done well by me - I am sure not the cheapest around ......you do have to become a member - $30 a year - My price, 16X20 canvas 1.5 inch bars = $100 plus shipping ....
