Yet another tele closeup. Yes, it is a lot easier than trying to sneak up on them, esp when it is so hot the grass is melting.
Male House Finch perched on twig overlooking the feeder mob. And he seems to have a seed or two stuck to his beak. He switched perches and few times and then rejoined the fight at one of the feeders.
This is the same bird that was in my "On Top of the world overlooking his kingdom" post, taken a bit earlier.
7DII, 100-400L mk2 @ 400, 1/2500 @ f/8, ISO-2500
hand held at about 25 feet from a blind in my backyard on June 7.
PS: no newer shots because too hot for me in the blind since then and I spent hours each day for a week fixing my wife's computer - it failed on updates then did an endless loop when you closed and opened windows. I tried about 15 different fixes from off line (seems this became common the first of the month) and finally on Microsoft.com I found they had a button to upgrade/update windows directly from their site instead of through settings in windows. It took a few hours to download and almost an hour to install but it worked. For the first time in almost a month I got her machine up to date with the latest things for Window 10.
Your usual high quality work, Bob!
Nice bird, nice shot, 'nough said.
Nicely done. Sharp and nice setting. It pays to have quality equipment too.
