Eastern Kingbird vs. dragonfly
If I had superman reflexes and vision I could have gotten a BIF of this Kingbird chasing down and snatching a dragonfly out of midair.
As it was, I feel privileged to have been there and witnessed it, and once the bird had flown to a nearby branch I was able to get a photo.

Eastern Kingbirds are one of my favorite birds. They really live up to their scientific name: Tyrannus tyrannus

Good capture of this Kingbird and it's dinner.

👍👍
One of my favorites too (along with Northern Flicker and Red Tailed Hawk).
Beautiful shot. We have Western, Cassin's Tropical and Thick-billed Kingbirds down here in the summer. None of them are as striking as the Eastern Kingbird

Great shot. I loved watching Eastern Kingbirds myself when I lived back east. Although the bird is perched, that dragonfly implies a lot of action. Ever chase a dragonfly or even try and catch one? It is not easy for one to catch their dinner.
Great capture, too bad for the dragonfly.
