Those bubble top Buick’s and Chevy are the coolest ever!
It’s kinda sad what Ford did to the T-bird. The 62 T-bird convertible is a pretty touring car but with the rear seat fairing looks kinda sad trying to recapture its sports car look.

I owned a ‘62 TBird convertible and drive it round trip from MD to AZ in ‘66. Never thought about the gas mileage at the time but I did have two generator failures along the way. As I recall, there were 7 electric motors to operate the top mechanism but they never failed although one electric window did. Fantastic road car but upkeep was a little steep.

All of them bring back great memories, and they all look great; but I miss my favorite, which was my first time at buying a brand new car. It was a 63 Pontiac Catalina 4dr hardtop, bought in Highland Park, IL while stationed at Fort Sheridan, IL, US Army, after returning from 15 months duty in South Korea. I have had 4 Pontiac's in my life, and never, ever had a problem with any of the. Why can't they make cars like they used to?
Some of the best styling ever. The 61 Bubble top is my favorite.
A great trip down memory lane with great photos. I don’t remember a bubble top, but seeing your captions brought to mind an ad from Buick that sang, “LeSabre, Invicta, Electra” or something like that. It was the 3 models of Buicks at the time. Tune keeps going through my head now, time to move on!!
Refreshing to see cars that were not popped from the same mundane cookie cutter!

Great cars. “Bubble top” is the Sport Coupe?
It’s just a nickname, they were marketed as “hardtop” denoting the absence of pillar between the front and back windows / doors distinguishing from the lower cost ‘sedans’. GM sold the “hard top” option in both two or four door models across all the brands. The term “bubble Top” never appeared on a GM spec sheet.

Neat! I learned to drive on that last one; my Dad's 64 Ford Galaxie 500. It was like driving a boat!
Great set and all the memories of that time, KT. My dad had a '61 Buick LeSabre 4dr hardtop the same color as photo #5. I was 18 and driving and loved that car. The interior was grey and rather blah, but that red metallic exterior was beautiful. Having cars in bold colors made it more interesting. With a few exceptions, most vehicles today can be photographed accurately in B&W.

Yes, along with Chevy's Impala.
Nice series KT as usual. Just nitpickin' here but the '62 Chevy bubble top is a BelAir. Chevy made a BelAir bubble top in that year and of course the Impala had three taillights on each side whereas the BelAir had two on each side.
Nice! Brings back memories—My dad had a 1960 Ford Sunliner—the same color!
