We are off to Mexico and I am opting to take my old Panasonic point and shoot instead of my good Canon 7d. My question is does anyone know if you can get the smooth water affect with it? Have looked thru the manual and can't find any reference to it and have tried Googling to no avail. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Is there water in Mexico ?

Can't answer ya on the camera. Depends on what you want. Why not take your 7D ?

Seeing as how we will be on the coast I would have to say yes regarding the water.
As we are only going to be there a week I am going for simplicity in travelling - one carry on only - if I took the 7D that is one carry on itself with the appropriate lenses.

Traditionally, you need a long exposure. If you can hold an ND filter in front of the lens for sevral seconds, that should do it.

By the way, I wonder how they came up with the name for that camera - 24 letters and spaces. Is that really necessary?
