Even though I've been on this Forum since 2013 and it still puzzles me. 2 days ago I started a thread asking for suggestions of places to photograph in Colorado. It got moved to "General Chit-chat/ non-photography section."
The following day, two other Hogs started threads asking for suggestions of photo-worthy spots in Cape Cod and Western Maryland. They didn't get moved.
There must be a message here somewhere but I'm damned if I can figure it out. Any ideas?

I think the rule is any destination with more than two syllables gets moved. Agree/disagree.

I think one message may be that Admin isn't here 24/7/365.
Another may be that someone complained (Yea, there are people who complain about posts in the wrong thread.)

I had the same issue. Post a picture and it gets moved. While for some others it gets posted and stays for viewing. Frustrating.

Whatever the whim of the administrator is what the site is relagated to at that moment. Sometimes there appeasrs to be no rhyme nor reason other than someone woke up cranky that morning. I wonder where this will land.

My bet is Chit Chat. But I’ve seen the same thing and wondered the same question. Moderation seems to be uneven.

I had a post deleted as too political, yet the guy who quoted my post in his reply got to keep his. WTH. My post was clearly visible in his reply.

I know of at least one community member that uses the <Report Issue> on every post in the Main Photography Discussion section that belongs somewhere else, along with a suggestion in the comment of where that post should be moved. That person has probably already reported this thread too.

The insults and subtle threats have gone ignored too. I have received vailed threats from a member I didn't know and didn't engage in conversation with. They randomly started commenting on my posts and then started private messaging me. I had to change my screen name. For absolutely no reason. So it isn't just admin. Most administrators on the site are nice if you sidebar them.

Put them (problem members) on your ignore list. You can have 100 members on that list before you have to make decisions of who is worse than others. They can still post on your threads or publicly, but can't send you a PM. More importantly, report that behavior directly to ADMIN via a Private Message (PM). The person / persons that are ADMIN are rather hands-off, but also responsive to direct questions via PMs.

No one can read every word of every post across the entire site every day. Placing items directly into their PM inbox is the effective method to reach the attention of the site ADMIN.

Thank you sir! That is exactly what was done. The individual for some reason, targeted the town I live in and was extremely hostile for whatever reason. My guess is I am not the only one he targeted based on his comments. He lived in a nearby city which is even weirder. Silence is golden sometimes. :)

A few days ago I asked admin about possibly doing a special section on travel ideas..of course, I would have to moderate it. I simply do not have time. But it does seem to be a good idea for this site.
