Advice with my cameras (second post
I use two cameras, an Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42 kit lens, 4/3 rds 12mp sensor. the other is a Lumix TZ10 with 12x optical zoom, 12mp sensor, it also has gps which records position in the EXIF.
I have gone through the SLR bit and but do not want to carry all the stuff that goes with it.
Both these cameras go into my pockets if I want, which suits me as I am mainly into street photos and some landscape work.
I include three photos, one of the cameras, a photo taken with the Lumix and an identical one taken with the Olympus
Can you look at these two shots, which are straight out of the camera and let me know which is better one, and if possible match the shots to a camera. I can then decide which camera to keep.
Thanks, John Eccles, Leyland UK.

OK, missed the "download" first time viewing this post, but you still could have used your orginal post to add...
Well, I've changed my mind... #1 IS by far the most detailed of the two... I concengrated on the ramp and with #1 you could count many more nail than on #2...

My apologies... You had to post a new one because your 30 minute leeway to edit or add was up....
Never saw a post with the pictures.
BUT
Each photo seems the same to me in detail mode. Both very detailed and sharp.
I could not make a choice between them based on these two photos. I would have to see what other features each had to maybe come to a conclusion which I wanted.

#1
My tired old eyes can't see much in it but the sky in the second picture seems smoother with slightly less red, but on the other hand the white overexposed railings on the first have a tiny more detail than on the second.
Great perspective on both and equal on the skyscraper falling down on the left.
Can't see much if any noise on either and the colours (to me) appear the same.
I would keep the GPS camera, I am always forgetting where I have been, especially if I travel to several different places in the same day.
my guess-
#1 olympus
#2 panasonic
I like #1 better (the pic)
I am unable to tell any difference between the two pictures. I would go by which features I use the most and keep that one

Just a bit of correction, the E-PL1 is a Micro 4/3rd - it uses much smaller (and lighter weight) lenses than the 4/3rd. The camera itself also, much smaller and lighter weight.

BETTER one? I believe that is a matter of taste, as well as knowing the area where the photo was taken. The bridge deck on the one looks a bit redder than on the other one. I don't know what the local situation is.
Have you thoroughly compared the cameras?
One has a fixed lens, the other one interchangeable lenses.
One has manual focus, the other one doesn't.
For one you can get a viewfinder, great if you take pictures in bright sunlight. (Half the time I can't see the images on the LCD screen under bright light).
The GPS in one is nice to have, but I find that with a hiking GPS and the clocks between the GPS and camera synchronised, I achieve the same thing.
There are other differences, but you are the only one who can decide what's important to you. Looking at
http://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-side?products=oly_epl1&products=panasonic_dmczs7the Olympus is the hands-down winner for me.

Thanks for looking I didn't know that. The problem I had was the photos disappeared from my first post.

#1 appears to have sharper detail and much better color saturation. I am assuming the camera settings were the same. Overall I prefer #1. I recently had my Olympus PEN converted to UV/VIS/IR and am having a ball with it. Love the compactness of the Micro 4/3.
Personally I find pic # 1 pleasing to the eye, more contrast and a bit more vivid.
But this may be because of in camera settings being pushed to saturate or under expose a bit.
Assuming both are straight from the camera at default settings I prefer #1 but #2 may give you more latitude in post work.

Both pictures are very good , the detail is there, I have an use an epl-1 for all my underwater photography and it is exceptional for that purpose. I agree with EsterP.. With the epl-1 you have interchangeable lenses, and more flexibility. Both are great cameras, I would lean towards the Olympus .
I have changed my mind
The first pic is from the Olympus, exposure and lens focal length slightly different from the Lumix, slightly narrower view, a little more detail in the distance and edge sharpness very slightly better than the Lumix.
The Lumix appears to have a slightly wider angle of view and I think slightly better reproduction of green colour.
Seems to lose some tiny details in the distance.
I have just look at the specs (suggested by EstherP) and agree the possibilities with the Olympus far outweigh those of the Lumix.
Especially the viewfinder.
