I went shopping this morning, hoping to get corn on sale again @ five for $1.00. Unfortunately, it was $2.00 an ear today.

Stupid, that. For that price, the Hogs can have it. I've seen those stupid prices also at the market also and just walk on by.
I'm sure it will be blamed on Covid or Bill Gates buying up all the farms!!
Idiots.

I have never bought such an item. If I want a little corn for soup, I buy a can.

But ... a fresh cob of corn goes so easy in soup! Easier than opening a can! AND, the flavors kick can over the canned stuff. All ya' gotta do is take the husk off and slice the fresh corn off with a paring knife into the soup. Yo' Mama shuda' taught you that! Come on now... Fresh up dat' soup!! (and stay away from canned soup and corn! Fresh is so much better!)

Not only is the fresh corn cut off the cob better in flavor than canned corn, the texture is much better also. Canned corn is too soft.

The first pun that I ever heard and understood was “Buccaneer: an expensive price for corn.” Now it seems to be the sale price…

Corn is much better roasted (oven or grill) and eaten straight off the cob. It’s a southern thing ….

And power our cars.

Brazil uses corn by-products to make ethanol, and the corn itself gets eaten. What a radical idea: eating food!
