Being Winter here, things are pretty slow re insects but the Bees are still very busy...they seem to be more active in the mornings and then get back to their hives as the day gets colder.

Don't save may pics from any UHH listing. But, yours was exceptional. Equipment used is not of consequence - only the result. Yours was great. Thanks for sharing. (Surprised to see bee pics from AU during 'winter'!)

Thanks Paul, we pretty much get Bees all year round as our winters aren't all that cold..usually mid teens at the worst...(15-20C, 60-70F) we get some cold mornimngs but the days are tolerable...

Multi-year drought. Late winter and early spring flowers try to bloom and various bee species are around. With no rain the flowers die off and the bees disappear. Last year we had less than half or our normal 12" of rain.

We had similar here last year Jack...no rain was what caused our lack of all insects...

Very nice bee images, I think bees make very good photographic subjects, not easy but beautiful.
