One hundred fifty year old barn, restored to original use. (B&W) & (color)

According to rumor, this old barn was scheduled to be torn down, along with the house and outbuildings. I kept
an eye on the old place, and over eighteen years nothing happen except the images that I snapped.
This year I got word that the old house was torn down and they were restoring the barn. I made a quick trip and checked it out.

Nice. I like both versions; perhaps the angle on the first shot is a bit better, but not by much. Happy to see the old fellow restored.

Thank you John, I agree with your assessment on the angle. The original thought/purpose was to document the sight but the extreme rural area invited a little composition and critique, and maybe a chance to learn. Again, much appreciated my friend!

The first shot is more balanced visually and graphically. The coloration in the second one offers new perspective.

I too like both versions, B&W and color. The different compositions of both are nice too... maybe liking the first one a tad better.

Thanks for taking time to really look at the images and to share your thoughts. If others didn't do this we would never learn. Very much appreciated!

Thanks Vince, I completely agree with you, the color shot was a documentation of the new fence, and a request of the ranch manager. I composed it the best I could but had the feeling that I could do much better if I concentrated on the whole scene and basically let the fence take care of it's self. It looked better to me so I went ahead and converted it to sepia.
