In the past, the DOJ remained independent and performed their jobs as the "people's" legal team, representing the best interests of the nation.
Under trump, the DOJ was turned into trump's own personal legal team, doing his bidding.
trump complained about being spied upon during his campaign by the FBI, so what did trump do soon after taking office? trump created his own spygate situation going after "democrats" in congress and their staff who he believed had released "classified" information.
When the DOJ came up empty-handed the first time, the efforts were doubled down on a second time after Barr was sworn in as AG.
Corruption was everywhere under trump.
