De-saturated Honey On The Wing

Caught this guy going off to the next job. D850, 105G Macro. Tried de-sat using the color saturation controls alone. Took out the green and a bit of yellow leaving a kind of almost green background.

What do you all think?

My though as well. In fact some other processes do good job of isolating the subject artfully?

Thanx! The 105 does not focus very quickly. I was happy a few came out.

Very nice! The bee retains its color which makes it stand out. The faint green tint of the background gives the shot just enough punch. I like it.

LOL! Skilz? Not me. All electronically done after the shutter trips. I really tried to highlight the bee without changing things, or at least make the fewest changes possible. I am feeling my way through this stuff myself. Thanx!
