My sister lives nearby and whenever I go to her house I pass a street corner with a beautiful array of flowers - daisys, roses and more. Every time, I say "next time I'll have my camera with me". I even had a title picked out for the topic I would create with photos of this corner.

Yesterday, same old thing. But, this time I stopped and clipped this one flower and a left over seed head. Last night Daisy and I had a date with the D850. The set up was very simple and I was pleased with the outcome! I hope you enjoy them. Please excuse my jelly jar vase.

Processing was with Affinity and very little was required except for no. 5 which had a background reflected in the mirror that just didn't work.

Wowsa, Carol, these are gorgeous! I'm particularly drawn to #4 for the angle of the reflection. All are outstanding for their clarity, color and lighting.

What Linda said!!!!! Then add a couple of more points for great composition. In my opinion the simple glass jar sets off the photo. Roses and other, High Priced Spread, flowers look great in expensive vases and so on. Your flowers look right at home in that glass container. It reminds me of when my brother and I lived in a small town in upstate NY. During the late summer all of the summer visitors had gone back to the city leaving their homes empty. We took the opportunity of, "borrowing", flowers from their yards to present them to my mother. Usually all we had was a simple glass jar as you used. She loved every one of them.

You posted some of the best flower photos I have seen in a long time. Well done.

Dennis

I'm happy you completed your challenge, camera in hand. My top choice will be No 3. I liked the misted water addition adding enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing your set of pictures, it lets us see the road you took.

Just a thought. If you put glycerin in your water droplets they will stand up bigger.

Thank you, Linda! The lighting was just my crook neck floor lamp like the one you got. I had a blast doing these and it was really easy. The last one had a mirror background but they were all on a piece of clear plexi over black velour. It makes me happy when a plan works out!

Dennis, thank you so much for a very encouraging comment. The little jar start with jelly then became a rinse water jar for watercolor painting. Now it's my go to for putting little flowers in water until I'm ready to shoot them. I think this is the first time it got to be in photos.

Thank you, Jim. Initially my husband didn't care for No 3 so I wiped up the excess water and took No. 4. After I got them out of camera and processed we both decided No. 3 was a keeper.
