Out in Yosemite week before last and saw what I consider 'Insanity' at least from my perspective however I don't begrudge anyone who does it, just wouldn't ever do it myself. As you can see these are photos of El Capitan and at first I didn't notice any climbers but upon closer views with binoculars we spotted some.
The first photo shows El Capitan from the viewing area on our first day taken at 30mm and mildly cropped. I've circled the climbers.
The second photo taken at 600mm and heavily cropped shows climbers ascending the face. Obviously as we viewed the face we saw many more climbers, about 8 or 10 more with many spending the night on the face...as a side note 31 climbers have died climbing El Capitan from 1905-2018.
In addition, there was controlled burning going on in the park which made breathing and visibility difficult at times. After a while a breeze would come through and clear the air...Cheers everyone.
Satisfying shot of El Capitan. Interesting sky helps.

Thanks anotherview, appreciated.
Excellent shots. Those climbers in the first shot give a strong sense of scale! I wish I could but I probably wouldn't!
Beautiful photos, sharp and clear.
Like you I see climbers sometimes and can't help but wonder, WHY? Just not for me either. I don't even like being as tall as I am.
Dennis
Pictures telling a story. Wonderful!

Most appreciated Dennis and sometimes tall can also be burden...
Really nice shots. When I was young El Cap was my dream. It was at least a 3 day climb back then and I found I could not sleep in a hammock. I had to abandon the climb.
Excellent shots. No way I would be doing that either.
