What is the answer to this UHH ad?

An ad for UHH popped up while I was on my AOL account that stated: "How to use a threaded bolt, some string and a washer to take crystal clear photos". Curiosity has gotten to me and I have used the UHH search feature and searched with a web browser and nothing comes up in relation to an article on this. I clicked on the ad and was taken to a UHH page that lists several FAQ's. This question is not on the list nor are there are answers to any of the questions. There is a small form at the bottom of the page to join UHH which I didn't need.

Is there an article/post on this and if not does anyone know how you would use these items to achieve crystal clear photos?

Thanks!!!

Dodie

The threaded bolt goes into the tripod socket of your camera. The string is tied to it. The washer is tied to the other end. Screw the bolt into the camera. stand on the washer, pull the string (cut to the proper length) tight, and you've got a lightweight tripod that you can carry in a pocket. The tention in the string will hold the camera steady.

Good luck with that!

Better odds in finding something using Google search and specifying UHH:

"bolt washer site:uglyhedgehog.com"

I do appreciate that you took the time to look and let me know that there are threads on the subject. I think you missed my third sentence where I mention that I used the UHH search and also my web browser to search for the answer.

Thank your for the suggestion for the search parameters. That will be a big help. I will switch to Google for my next search. I appreciate you taking the time to look and help.

BTW - "Crystal Clear" is a sales? come-on in this case. A catch phrase? They will simply be less blurry using the string method. Still blurry if one moves while shooting.
