Take a look at the photo's at this link. I took these with the Canon 18mm - 135mm lens on a Canon T2i body. It's a solid lens but not the greatest in low light.

Just purchased one about a month ago and it does a great job. needed a walk around lens for a trip to bermuda and wanted to carry only one lens. my 100-400 lens was to big and heavy. would recomend this lens to anyone. here is a few shots. Good luck

I also recommend this lens. I got it as my primary lens instead of the kit lens on my T2i. Absolutely no complaints.

What are you using it on? Crop sensor or full frame ?

For my crop sensor Canon 7D I use:
Canon 18-200 for travel (likely subjects Unknown)
Canon 15-85 for general walk around (with likely subjects known)
Canon 70-300 L for telephoto (with likely subjects known)
and a Tokina 12-24 for wide angle (inside houses, landscape)
-
Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the photos, they look good. I'm also considering the 55-250. Hope it's ok as well, this way i'll have evrything pretty much covered. Love to have the 70-300 IS but funds won't allow it right now. Some say the 55-250 is as sharp at 250 as the 70-300 is at 300, but it's a little slower focusing.

-I'll be using it on a T3i. Like to have the 18-200 instead of the 18-135, but it's a bit much for me right now. Although, the combo 18-135 plus the 55-250 is around $1000.00, so i'm not sure which to do. Does your 18-200 do well?

I chose the 18-200 over the Tamron 18-270 PZD based on reviews - - however having said that, many are quite happy with the Tammy - which is le$$!! I recommend you look here:
http://www.juzaphoto.com/article.php?l=en&article=35
I did enjoy my 18-135 - a good value!! - but wound up selling it as it wasn't long enough and got the 18-200.
What do you plan on using the lens for?? I use the 18-200 as a one-lens answer for Travel. The 15-85 plus 70-300L plus 12-24 is a 3 lens answer for 95% of your average photos - IF you know what you're going to shoot before hand and like to minimize lens changes.
The 70-300L is big bux though :-(

It's a great lens. I used it for all my landscape shots until I bought the Tamron 10-24, but I still prefer the Canon for clarity.
