Unable to load photos to UHH.
Not sure this is the right place to raise this query but unexpectedly I am not able to upload photos to UHH at present and I get the following message - which I do not understand??
This site can’t be reached
www.uglyhedgehog.com unexpectedly closed the connection.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED
Check your internet connection.
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Allow Opera to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server…
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to Applications > System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies and deselect any proxies that have been selected.
Drag them to the little square. There is something about the new Mac operating system that prevents it. And, you can still move your photos on your phone in the old way.
Thanks for the quick reply Daldds - had Mac OS Big Sur and recent update installed for some time and no problems - no problems uploading to facebook - I will check the little square as you suggest - thanks for your help.
How big is the file in bytes? Remember, the size limit is 20MB for a single stored attachment.

Just checked Paul and surprised it was 28.3mb - reduced it in OnOne resize to 9.8mb - which is supposed to be 70% 0f the original - maths don't quite match up but I am attempting to upload again with this post
Simply saving a file as a 90% quality JPEG rather than 100% will significantly reduce the file size.

For online display, you can't see a difference until you get below 60% JPEG quality. More effective is using the approach of resizing the image rather than JPEG quality, with the recommendation of resizing to 2048 pixels on the long side, discussed and demonstrated here:
