This is where the majority of my black background images are created, the remote trigger is seen just inside the front edge of the tent, I don't leave it on the camera when not shooting.
Nice. Learned real quick when I got my first macro that shooting in the wild at 1:1 is a pain, every bit of wind changes the focus. A set up like yours is the only way to go.

Thank you When I shoot in locations and subjects where I can't take them with me I use a handheld strobe with the SU800 commander then I just wait until almost all movement has stopped then I shoot multiple frames to make sure at least one frame is in focus, this works about 85% of the time.
Thank you Ken I have two light tents this one and a bigger one that has a removable floor that I can sit over a plant outdoors but it is a bitch to stow after using. The lighting is from when I had a studio.
Very nice. I bought a sheet of black foamboard. I also have a similar "lightbox."
Thank you Jerry I used Black foam core for gobos in my studio, but as a background they weren't worth a shit, they were flat black but had a glare under direct light and they would show every dent.
