Captive grasshopper...

It does not get easier than to capture a grass hopper, shoot it while holding it then release it...



A bit too dark...



I know, the difference is not all that much, but I can tell you that if that thing could kill me with its eyes I would be dead meat already!!!

That's a very nice job! FYI, the spec is a katydid, indicated by the long antennae, and the 'ear' on the front tibia, these never found on grasshoppers (short antennae, 'ears' on the sides of the abdomen). Too, katydids have 4 tarsal segments that you show very well; crickets are mostly like katydids but have 3 tarsal segments, grasshoppers have 3 or less. These characters are shown very well indeed.
