The statistics show there's been steady improvement as the percentage of v******ted Americans increases. Declining new cases, declining hospitalizations and most importantly, declining new deaths. Coincidence? I think not.

Denny is correct, the longer the v***s lives with a large unv******ted group, the greater the potential for variants.

It's a shame this v***s had to be politicized but that's Trump's way - divide and conquer. You are comparing apples and oranges. The annual flu is fairly well understood and the v*****e is prepared for that year's anticipated variant. C****-** was a novel variant of the of a SARS v***s and, as with most things in the "first time though", it caused a lot of deaths simply because it took a lot of effort for scientists to even understand what they were facing. That isn't the case with the annual flu. We get annual flu shots because of the flu variants resulting from the original 1918 p******c - the so called "Spanish Flu". So, if we as a society fail to establish "herd immunity", we can look forward to two annual flu shots, one resulting from the 1918 influenza p******c and another resulting from the 2019 p******c.

Just for comparison, The Spanish flu was an unusually deadly influenza p******c caused by the H1N1 influenza v***s. It lasted from February 1918 to April 1920 and infected 500 million people – about a third of the world's population at the time – in four successive waves. The death toll is typically estimated to have been somewhere between 20 million and 50 million people. I wonder just how much science helped keep the C****-** infection from spreading even more than the 1918 p******c. As of yesterday it was reported that , world wide there have been 171.3 million cases resulting in 3.7 million deaths reported.

It makes you ask the question; "who benefits by not taking the recommended precautions included getting v******ted"? To me, not getting v******ted is like biting your nose to spite your face. That's the legacy of the prior administration's politicizing the p******c. If we don't attain herd immunity (which is now doubtful), we can look forward to annual booster shots. People can decline those shots as well but how many times does someone feel safe when rolling the dice with their life?
