Voss, this was a great exercise. Of the 15 I thought 3 and 1/2 were better in color. This one is the 1/2 because both treatments are outstanding.
Thanks, Hugh

Hi, Everyone, This is the last of the series, and I'd like to hear your comments about "color vs B&W." Any hard and fast rules, or does it "just depends on..."?

Just took another look at the two versions.

The positions of the black and the white cars behind the girls adds in both versions with emphasis of the colors. And the black bow on the girl's wrist could not have been a better accessory to enhance the story line.

Looking at the girl photo right, I think she is having to remind her dog to keep moving. No snarl on her lips, just a reaction to having to step up to keep the dog from tangling the lines. Did you happen to notice what got the dogs' interest?

Again, great shot.

For me “it depends”. For this one it is definitely color. Others you have posted could go either way. Some are definitely better in b&w. I like how you are posting both.

I see color every time I open my eyes. It's refreshing to see your b&w.

Hey, Everyone, thanks for your responses. I thought one side or the other would dominate, but the majority goes down the middle, which makes the most sense to me. Each photo is an individual thing, and has to be considered on its own merits. Until recently, I've been hard and fast on the B&W side, but I'm starting to develop more of a taste for color. But, the bottom line is, it depends on the photo. And thanks again for your comments; I appreciate them.

For the title, the color here is more interesting. :-)
