Memorial Day...
The gentleman on the right is saluting during the National Anthem being sung by the young lady on the lefty. He’ll be 100 years old next week and is a WWII vet who designed and built roads and runways in Burma for the US Army Air Corps. He was the guest of honor at our local Memorial Day Service. I spoke with him for a few moments congratulating him on his longevity and his comment, sadness in his voice was: “All my guys are gone. I’m the only one left.”
That is the saddest thing about living to a ripe old age.
