Have been watching this nest since Momma first set up housekeeping. This seems to be the only chick that has survived. I shoot from as far away as possible so as to not disturb the birds. A few years ago I shared the location of an active nest of Great Horned Owls and before I knew it a crowd began showing up. There was never another clutch raise there. Perhaps my sharing was not the cause but I will never again take that chance.

Thanks. This bird is about 12-14 inches tall at only several weeks old. It is amazing how fast they grow.
